The Democratic-run state of New York is considering using an airplane hangar at John F. Kennedy International Airport to house migrants, the state’s governor, Kathy Hochul, said Monday during a press conference.
The state is assessing how it can expand housing for migrants as New York City reaches its breaking point, Hochul said.
A plea for community aid to identify a woman who stole a machine gun from a shooting range near Converse, Texas, has ended with an arrest. Initial identification of the suspect was complicated because the suspect reportedly used her dead sister’s identity to register at the range. Surveillance photos and video of the suspect were released to local news stations in the hope that the suspect could be identified.
Amber Herring, 25, was arrested Tuesday, May 9. She faces multiple charges, including theft of a firearm and possession of a prohibited firearm.
A child in King County has been diagnosed with measles, a highly contagious disease, and visited multiple locations around Seattle between May 11 and 15.
Public Health – Seattle & King County is investigating the case. While the risk of contracting the disease is unlikely for those that are vaccinated, it is not impossible, and anyone who was at the following locations could have been exposed.

A man who allegedly broke into dorms at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) and groped female students on May 14 is back in custody, having been charged with five counts of burglary and assault.
The man entered two different dorm rooms and stood over the female students while they were sleeping. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said the man woke the students by groping them and then ran away.
