Earlier this month, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed S.B. 505 into law, which will nearly quintuple the annual cost of registering an electric vehicle (E.V.) in the state. Is Texas punishing its eco-friendly citizens, or is there a legitimate reason to charge more?
The new law adds additional fees for motorists registering an electric vehicle. Currently, registering or renewing a Texas car tag costs between $50.75 and $54.

Trying to beat the criminals at their own game.. Ballot chasing must be embraced in every state, or the Republican Party will continue to lose winnable elections. It’s too bad RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel does not seem to understand that.

I will apologize up front for using the campy 1984 movie, Revenge of the Nerds, as a prescient portrayal of the shifting power relationship that favors Russia and China and puts the United States at an unexpected disadvantage. But I think it is an apt metaphor. The original movie portrayed a group of very smart, technically gifted students who were shunned and tormented by the popular fraternities — populated with the handsome, smug golden boys and brain dead athletes.

Ron DeSantis’ Twitter Space was marred by technical difficulties causing the event to start late. Once it began, DeSantis read from a script sounding like a GOP establishment candidate. DeSantis concluded his opening remarks by asking for money. The Q and A part of the event only featured questions from DeSantis supporters who were journalists. Trump released a video during the event in which he called DeSantis an imposter.
Technical difficulties caused by Elon Musk’s account forced the DeSantis Twitter Space to start almost 20 minutes late.

Pressure started mounting for George Washington University to officially get rid of its Colonials nickname in 2018, and after a half-decade of holding on, the school officially announced its new moniker earlier this week.
George Washington will now go by the name of Revolutionaries, which the woke crowd who forced the name-change in the first place certainly won’t find anything wrong with. GW tabbed NBC anchor Chuck Todd to help reveal the university’s new nickname, which is incredibly on-brand.
The George Washington student body voted out the Colonials nickname in 2019.

Russia is gradually restoring sales of fertilizers to international markets, and could return to the levels of 2021, when exports hit record highs, the head of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association (RAPU) said earlier this week.
Andrey Guryev acknowledged that it is already impossible to equal the record for the entire year, but that fertilizer exports in Q2-Q4 2023 could easily reach the export levels seen in the same periods of 2021.

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton characteristically pulled no punches in recently depicting the subject of special prosecutor John Durham’s investigation this way: “President Trump is a crime victim who was targeted by a seditious conspiracy by Obama, Biden, Clinton and their Deep State allies.”
Mr. Durham’s final report, released last week, basically substantiated that conclusion. And yet, despite the gravity of such criminal activity at the highest levels of the U.S.

Dr Aseem Malhotra is no stranger to speaking out about important health issues. Especially when these issues involve the interests of large corporations including the pharmaceutical industry. This time, Malhotra is using his voice to call for the suspension of mRNA Covid-19 vaccinations pending an investigation of serious side effects and independent analysis of raw trial data.
Everyone knows that San Francisco is the nation’s largest public toilet – requiring the city to employ six-figure ‘poop patrol’ cleanup team, however a new report from the city Controller’s Office really puts things in poo-spective.
For starters, feces were found far more often in commercial sectors, covering “approximately 50% of street segments in Key Commercial Areas and 30% in the Citywide survey,” second only to broken glass as can be seen in the ‘illegal dumping’ section.

Vadim Skibitsky, deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, said that Putin was on top of the list of priority targets because he “coordinates and decides what happens.”
According to Peskov, the special operation is more than just justified, more than just needed and should be completed when all of its goals are achieved.
DeSantis’s hope needs to be that his Twitter misadventure didn’t break his campaign.

It looks like the Detroit Lions and Calvin Johnson are finally ready to bury the hatchet and move forward.
Johnson and the Lions have been on notoriously bad terms ever since the team made him repay more than $1 million in signing bonus after he retired following the 2015 season.
Generally speaking, teams don’t go after a star player’s bonus money if he decides to hang up his cleats, especially if he’s physically banged up like Johnson was.
The Lions made him repay the money, and things have been sour ever since.
A priest friend of mine has been writing for three years against his fellow clerics who went along with the COVID regime, shut their churches, masked their parishioners, and then pushed shots on those who didn’t need them. He said that they forgot the first principle: be not afraid.
It was supposed to be a unique, game-changing event: Ron DeSantis was going to announce his bid for the presidency on Twitter. With Elon Musk, too. But technical glitches got in the way with the numbers of people attempting to log in, and Donald Trump used the failure to launch as an opportunity to ridicule his rival. It looked like curtains for DeSantis’s nascent candidacy.
