Just when you think your personal opinion of President Joe Biden can’t go any lower, a new story has emerged that paints the octogenarian occupant of the White House as either maliciously stupid or horrifically detached.
Either way, it’s an abysmal look for a president who really can’t afford any more gaffes as he barrels towards what will be a contentious 2024 re-election bid.
The latest Biden gaffe revelation may actually be the most damning, and it is made all the more worse by the fact that the victim of the president’s brainlessness is an actual American hero.

Notice how the Financial Times spins this chart—that Republicans are the “anti-science” party:
This reminds me of the endless media fake handwringing over the “gender gap” showing Republicans have a problem with women voters, while never considering the question of whether Democrats have a problem with male voters. Just why do Democrats display a sharp rise in “confidence” in the scientific community? Gee—I wonder if it might have something to do with the “scientific community” becoming so blatantly politicized? (See Fauci, Anthony.
When California Governor Newsom’s wife Jennifer founded the California Partners Project in 2020, did corporate media deliberately hide the facts regarding details of Governor Gavin Newsom’s financial ties to the fraudulent Silicon Valley Bank and a shadowy California-based SEI Climate Corp partnership that is controlled by California’s electrical utilities? Ten people who crashed their bicycles on an unfinished portion of the Burke Gilman trail are making claims against the city of Seattle, setting up a possible lawsuit against the city.
Their attorneys say that the city failed to make a portion of the 1.4-mile “missing link” stretch of trail where safety infrastructure does not exist. The trail runs 27 miles from Golden Gardens Park to Bothell but has a gap where the trail runs over railroad tracks in Ballard.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday granted a request by President Joe Biden’s administration to reinstate—at least for now—a federal regulation aimed at reining in privately made firearms called “ghost guns” that are difficult for law enforcement to trace.
The justices put on hold a July 5 decision by U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor in Fort Worth, Texas, that had blocked the 2022 rule nationwide pending the administration’s appeal.

Former British member of the EU parliament (MEP) Nigel Farage, who is no stranger to politically motivated “de-banking,” (watch our video report on it here) is keeping an eye on what the banks are doing next.
Nothing new, as it happens – the one that de-banked him, NatWest (via Coutts) – has changed its terms and conditions, but the big picture is that of the overall and long-standing push toward a cashless society.

“They call it dope for a reason,” anti-drug campaigns used to say.
These public service campaigns were referring to the people who use drugs, but a marijuana law recently passed by the Maryland General Assembly shows that the slogan could apply to some legislators too.
That’s harsh, but accurate. Why? Under a statute that took effect July 1, police officers in Maryland no longer may rely merely on the distinctive odor of cannabis to search a lawfully stopped individual or motor vehicle for the presence of the drug that gave rise to the odor.

The end of the naive era of hope in Wind Power fairies
Remember how they said wind energy would keep getting cheaper? Only a year ago academics were still writing papers about the “Moore’s Law” miraculous future of wind power. Only we appear to have already hit the point where bigger is not better. Two years ago the former head of Siemens bizarrely warned that “Wind power risks becoming too cheap” and Reuters, bizarrely, published it.
