The University of Wisconsin (UW) System will no longer require new employees to submit statements outlining their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), CBS 58 Newsroom reported.
UW System President Jay Rothman announced the decision to end diversity statements to lawmakers on Thursday while delivering testimony in front of the state House of Representatives, according to CBS 58. Republican lawmakers, who have expressed interest in eliminating DEI programs, had threatened to cut campus state funding, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
GOP Senator Ted Cruz reached his limit with hapless Joe Biden and demanded the president get out of his basement and visit the southern border. Cruz said:
“I’m standing here in our southern border with the Rio Grande river right behind me in Brownsville, Texas. Title 42 is going to expire in just a few hours.

Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz tore into a “parrot” reporter for trying to blame Republicans, not President Joe Biden’s administration, for the looming border crisis.
Cruz and others held a press conference while visiting the area for the end of Title 42. An unidentified reporter off-camera used the opportunity to try and lecture Cruz over what Republicans have done to help the ongoing border crisis, which has hit historic levels since Biden took office.
“Let me ask you something. What rate of illegal immigration did we have in 2020?” Cruz shouted.
