WASHINGTON/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a prominent member of the Republican Party and a former military officer, was to announce his 2024 U.S. presidential bid during a discussion with Elon Musk on Wednesday, U.S. sources say.
Musk, the CEO of social media platform Twitter, was to host a Twitter Spaces event with DeSantis at 18:00 local time.
DeSantis is seen as a potential challenge to former President Donald J. Trump, who seeks re-election to the White House next year.
Phil Mickelson, arguably the most famous PGA Tour defector to LIV Golf, is defending his new tour following Brooks Koepka’s PGA Championship victory. Koepka is another member of LIV Golf. As is Bryson DeChambeau, who finished 4th, and Cam Smith, who finished 9th.
Mickelson finished tied for second alongside Koepka in April’s Masters tournament won by Jon Rahm. Patrick Reed finished tied for fourth at Augusta. Mickelson doesn’t think that’s a coincidence.

CONROE, Texas (AP) — Two people were killed and several others were hurt Tuesday afternoon when a home that was under construction collapsed as strong storms hit north of Houston in the Conroe area.
A home under construction in the Ladera Creek area fell sometime after 3 p.m., news outlets reported.

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — A South Korean company will build a $40 million factory in coastal Georgia to make heating and cooling systems near a Hyundai Motor Group auto assembly plant.
Hanon Systems announced Tuesday that it would build the plant in Statesboro, with plans to hire at least 160 new employees.
