PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — A jury convicted a Michigan teenager Thursday of killing her father by throwing lye on him and burning him while he was sleeping.
Megan Imirowicz, 19, of Groveland Township in Oakland County, was found guilty of unlawful possession or use of harmful devices/irritants causing death and domestic violence following a four-day trial. She faces up in life in prison when she is sentenced, scheduled to occur on July 25.
“This is a tragic case. The defendant lashed out in anger and wound up killing her father,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said.

Man Dies After He Was Set On Fire During An Argument At A Mobil Gas Station
TAMPA (HCSO) – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has charged a suspect with pre-meditated murder after the man he lit on fire at a gas station last month died.
On June 12, 2023, the victim, a man in his 60s, succumbed to the injuries sustained in this attack.
Earl Hargrove, Jr., 34, is already under arrest for the attack and is now facing additional charges of Pre-Meditated First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery Great Bodily Harm. He has remained in HCSO custody since the original incident.
A multistate enterprise dealing in body parts has been disrupted with the arrests of six people, including the manager of the morgue at Harvard Medical School, federal authorities announced Wednesday.
Cedric Lodge, 55, who managed the med school morgue, was among six people charged, along with his wife, Denise Lodge, 63, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. They are listed as residents of Goffstown, New Hampshire.
